Vista, CA -- Ophthonix, the originators of a high definition vision technology that transforms the way consumers see their world by providing distance vision that is crisper, clearer and more vivid, today announced the introduction of iZon® SL™ Lenses in Transitions VI. The new iZon SL Lens in Transitions VI provides patients with a UV light activated changeable tint that can offer many high definition vision benefits, including better vision in low luminance and intermediate contrast conditions.
The new wavefront-guided iZon SL Lens in Transitions VI holds a distinct advantage over other competitive photochromic lenses on the market. As with all iZon Lenses, the new iZon SL Lens in Transitions VI is produced from the patient’s optical fingerprint, or iPrint™, that contains all 2nd to 6th order aberrations of the eye measured by the Z-View® Aberrometer. The iPrint, coupled with the company’s proprietary algorithm, is used to determine the best sphere-cylinder fit for the back surface of the new iZon SL Lens in Transitions VI. Because it is produced by the iPrint, the new Lens can address many of the vision challenges associated with higher order aberrations of the eye in any light condition. These vision problems include seeing in low light and reduced contrast conditions; general lack of clarity around images at a distance; comets, halos and starbursts surrounding lights; and even shadows or double images. “Since our initial iZon Lens launch, we’ve had many practitioner requests to combine our iZon Lens high definition technology with a changeable tint. Now, patients can get more crisp and clear vision, day or night, sun light or moon light,” said Steve Osbaldeston, Ophthonix CEO.
The new iZon SL Lens Light Activated Lens in Transitions VI is 1.6 index, and fully loaded with index matched scratch resistant coating, and premium anti-reflective and super-hydrophobic coatings. It is available in gray and brown tints and can be ordered for both Single Vision and PAL wearers. “I have prescribed the iZon brand of lenses since 2007. It is a remarkable lens that provides my patients with a quality of vision that I never observed from any other lens,” commented Dr. Tom Motisi, an optometrist from Milwaukee, WI. “To now have the high definition benefits of iZon Lenses, combined with Transitions changeable tints, will be a big addition to my practice and I know my patients will be thrilled,” emphasized Motisi.
